This ma-40 replacement filter lasts about 5 months in the Medify Air MA-40 Air Purifier. The air purifier only uses one filter at a time. I buy two at a time because it's a little less expensive than buying one at a time. The ma-40 replacement filter is well built with an aluminum frame that has a foam strip around the outside for a tight fit. I don't know if the aftermarket generic filters are as good but they are about half the price. The Air Purifier warranty is tied to the use of the Medify filters so I use the OEM filters. They are good filters. I am happy with them and I would recommend to a friend.
