I ran in to some serious allergy issues this summer cutting one of the fields on my farm. Lots of ragweed had grown and I had to mow about 5 acres. I spent about a month in bed and at various hospitals and doctors. My neighbor recommended this hood since he had a lot of experience cleaning out grain bins, so I gave it a try.First impression was that the hood is rather large but not terribly heavy. The headband was easy to adjust and it had a cloth covering. I found it to be rather comfortable to wear for two hour stints. The fan noise is noticeable but not loud or disturbing, especially since it is drowned out by mower and tractor noise when in use.If the fan is off the temperature inside climbs to uncomfortable in less than a minute. With the fan running I was quite comfortable even when the weather was in the mid 90s.I used the rig for about 2 months with great success keeping me from having an allergy problem under some pretty dusty circumstances. We had a bad drought this year and farm work was unusually dusty. I haven't had to change the filters as yet but the process looks very simple. The only downside so far is the filters are pretty expensive, but they seem to last a reasonable amount of time. I also could complain about the collar at the bottom. It is supposed to cover the neck area to complete the lower seal, which it does, but it likes to slip up to my chin. I think the addition of a clip to hold it down to my shirt would be an easy fix.
