True HEPA filters capture up to 99.97 percent of microscopic particles such as household dust, smoke, pollen, mold spores and pet dander. Long-life design only requires replacement every three to five years. Patented SurroundSeal Technology protects against air leakage around the filter for maximum efficiency. Stack multiple filters for larger models. Filter and included gasket are designed for use with Honeywell Air Purifiers 11520, 12520, 13520, 17200, 18150, 17400, 50150, 50200, 50250, and 50300.
Captures up to 99.97Percent of airborne particles at 0.3 microns
Filters should be replaced every 1-5 years depending on use
For use with Honeywell air purifier HRF-F1 series: 11520, 12520, 13520, 17200, 18150, 17400, 50150, 50200, 50250, 50300
Kaz has ruined the Honeywell name. The original replacement filter for the 52500 Honeywell was discontinued. The Honeywell branded replacement is an ad hoc stack of these skinny filters coupled with a foam rubber gasket that leaks. This filter coupled with the possible use of a foam gasket (provided) fits in several of the Kaz-owned brands. This was an obvious attempt to reduce the very large inventory of filters needed, but also renders more than one brand/model much less efficient than when using original filters.I tested my Honeywell 52500 with the original filter using a laser particle counter. The unit's efficiency was in excess of 80% (80% reduction in particles from ambient air on first pass). After replacing the stock filter (one piece) with these and the included foam rubber, my HEPA filter initially ran at 78% efficiency, but degraded to less than 50% as the filters were used a few months in. Meaning, that new replacements might seem to work okay, but as these replacements are used and the filter media starts clogging, more than 1/2 of the air is going to pass around the HEPA filter without being filtered.Recommendation: Find a one-piece aftermarket filter here on Amazon that is a suitable replacement for the original and avoid these Kaz filters as they are a waste of money and don't perform like the original filters.Would helped to know I needed 2 to replace the existing one in my old cleaner. It wasn't real obvious and just said replacement for the model I had. My bad for not checking the specs but may not have done it if I knew the price was twice what thought.I was diagnosed with asthma about a year ago and also found out that my only allergen is to cats (I own three), I've had to make some adjustments to my life. Having a portable air filter that I can move from room to room is part of the adjustment. The Honeywell Hepa filters are the cheapest around that fit in my air purifier. I need three of them, but even three are cheaper than the large one that I could buy to go in the unit. It can get pricey; I have to replace these about four times a year, but it's better than the alternative, which is that my asthma worsens and I have an attack that lands me in the emergency room. That hasn't happened yet since I'm being compliant with everything my asthma specialist tells me to do. My asthma is obviously adult-onset, and I think the situation in this country will only worsen because we have so many toxins in our air.One thing to note. This is a single stackable filter. It is a replacement that needs to be combined to work in various sized honeywell air purifiers depending on the model. the 12520 model requires 2 of these. the 13520 requires 3 of these. the 11520 requires just the one filter. The replacement filter part number 22500 = to two of these. The replacement part number 24000 filter = three of these. I've been using a 3 filter stack on a honeywell 13520 air purifier and it's doing fine it's now on it's 2nd year. Look for deals on these at under $20 each.I’m using these filters in a Model 50300 that requires 4 filters stacked. The instructi9ns imply there are gaskets between these stacked filters. In fact they’re spacers, foam about 3/4 in thick. For my model, no spacers were required, so no filter surface area was lost. At the other extreme, models 12520, 17400, and 50200 each have 2 stackable filters, and 2 spacers, taking up about 1/2 the space of a filter. That results in the model 11520, and model 12520 having the same filter capacity, but the 12520 has 2 spacers. The other concern is the loss of filter surface area between (for my unit, model 50310) 4 short stacked filters and the original single tall filter. There’s and top and bottom piece for each stacking filter that takes up filter space.Honeywell has no gone to flat filters, taking up much less space, and presumably much less capacity. The filter instructions tell me I should be able to get 3 to 5 years for light usage of my new stackable filters. The instructi9ns for my new unit tell me to replace the smaller flat HEPA filter every year.ExpensiveI had to get these for my 50150 air purifier since the original filter is not available anymore. Unfortunately 2 of these put together (per instructions) is slightly larger than the original filter and the bottom doesn't tighten up all the way like the original one.I'll be looking for 3rd party options for my second purifier. It takes three of these to replace my original filter, but it's working well with one foam gasket. No noise beyond the actual airflow. I'd like to see them come down in price a bit for those of us who have to purchase multiples for our larger models, but I'm happy that there's no whistling noise. One of the filters was in a rather smashed box, although the outer box was fine, so Amazon clearly shipped a damaged box.Original filter was double this size. Stacking these filters with added foam gaskets significantly reduces overall filter area, placing greater strain on the fan and limiting air flow. This negates the purpose of buying a full size air filter in the first place!Likely to skip Honeywell next time I buy a HEPA unit.Give your head a shake, Honeywell.I have a Honeywell 50200 purifier. The original filter 38002 has been replaced by 2 of these HRF-F1 filters plus 2 foam gaskets. While I don’t like that the gaskets don’t filter the air properly, I really can’t stand the smell of these new filters. I have been running the purifier 24x7 for 3 days since installing them and the acrid plastic smell is still there. It honestly makes the whole idea of “purifying” the air moot as I can’t have it running when I am in the room and am wondering if the smell is healthy. Are these faulty filters?I was not sure the two would replace the one I needed but they did.ce sont de parfait filtreur.Makes a big difference in the air quality, great for 3 smokers
