I thought some of the other reviews about the brass fittings on this tank were an exaggeration, but my tank arrived today- and before I used it once, the T splitter brass fitting snapped and broke in half. All I did was remove a connector to add loc-tight to the threads.. It couldn’t handle the extra torque that a couple layers of thread tape added and broke apart in my hands.However...I drove to a True Value hardware store and replaced all the brass and it was fixed a half hour later, and it was a significant upgrade. I added a second flow control PSI gauge as well- so there’s one stock gauge to measure the air in the tank, and another to measure/control the flow. I highly recommend this. The other reviews are serious- you’re going to have to replace the brass. If you want to postpone this- do not adjust anything. It may leak air, but drip liquid thread sealer into the threads.. don’t turn them. With that out of the way... The tank is great. I actually love it and am still happy with my purchase. It turned my little 1 gallon compressor into a serious piece of useful equipment. With the new fittings it doesn’t leak at all and works beautifully. It’s a shame about the brass.. But I get it. It’s hard to compete when China is pumping this kind of stuff out for near wholesale prices for any US company.Pros: light (purchased the AL tank), nice design, nice features (1/4 turn drain, valve to isolate tank from brass, can be filled two ways)Cons: cheap brass, poor assemblyPurchased this tank to match the California Air Tool compressor I purchased at the orange hardware store. I give in 3.5 stars because I really like the tank now that it works correctly. If you purchase this tank please be aware that your will need replace all most all the brass on that comes on the tank. It is cheap and clearly the part of the product that was skimped on the reduce costs. Had to replace all the brass in the in photo with higher quality products from the orange hardware store. The isolation valve and hose coupler leaked and the tee fitting split when replacing the leaky parts. Save yourself some time and have all of these on hand. All are 1/4” npt by the way.The tire chuck hose whip came with nipple finger tight only. Additionally it had an excessive amount of Teflon tape on the hose fitting end including tape covering the opening of the fitting. I also found this on the brass on the tank. This is very poor assembly quality that can damage your tools as the Teflon tape does not break down and clogs screens and jams tools. Sad to see California Air Tools put a sticker on the tank that proudly says it was assembled in the USA but has such poor assembly quality. Please leave the sticker off in future.Other reviewers mentioned that CAT went cheap on the brass and they weren't joking....The goop they use to seal the threads is also pretty nasty stuff...smells like some sort of epoxy. The compressor I got from them was kind of leaky until I taped and reseated everything, so I didn't even bother filling the tank up before replacing the fittings. I can't say for sure if they are even brass. As you can see the Tee fitting broke apart as I was removing it.The tank itself is very lightweight and feels solid. I'm wary about replacing the drain valve and main intake fitting since I don't want to deal with returning the item should anything happen. I don't think the threaded ports that are welded onto the tank are solid aluminum, but what can you expect for about $100?It's still a good value, but I wish they would have not included the "extras" and maybe just had more solid ports.Very nice tank. Nice features include a drain and quick fill fitting. Has held pressure for months with no loss of air. The oddity is that the lines on the gauge are in six pound increments rather than the five one would expect. Weird. Also, surprised that the price has gone up almost $50 since November. You will be showing this off at the pits, telling people to lift your air tank and seeing their reaction as everyone's naturally tendency is to yank them up. I left it full in my garage for a couple of weeks, came pack and it didn't drop a single psi. Well worth it.It is a great air tank but I wish I would have paid attention to how much it weighs then I would have went with a lighter one. It should last 10 lifetimes but it is super heavy and hard for me to carry around. If you're younger and stronger then go for it you will like it.I found the whole assembly well-thought-out for the casual user. The valve does a good job of keeping the air in when you want it to, the connections make it easy to either fill the tank or use it. Could they be tougher or better protected? Sure. But in casual use, this thing should last for a very long time. Key thing to longevity is to detach all hoses and other stuff while transporting it. You can't expect the tank valve to survive much abuse given how its installed vs. how the rest of the assembly acts on it.Welds on mine looked fine, just as the paint job. It's very light, and it stores a much more air than my compressor. Makes it ideal for quick refills of tires and like stuff, rather than having to lug a compressor and power cord around. I would also recommend it for large but intermittent loads, where your compressor can use it like a battery to store air that is going to be released in short bursts that exceed the capacity of the built-in accumulator.Using this tank in a fixed installation is likely a waste as similar steel-based tanks cost less. Downside of steel tanks, however, is that you have to watch for water (and the resultant corrosion).I bought this to keep on my ATV trailer, because often we will air down the tires depending on trails. This seemed perfect, its light, inflates the tires fast and doesnt make any noise! I've had this for 6 months now. It doesn't hold air, and it hasn't from the very beginning. At first I thought maybe I wasn't using it right, or hadn't closed the valve tightly. So I went back and re-read the instructions, and it still doesn't hold air. It will only hold air for about 3 hours, before its completely empty.10 gallon aluminium tank. Very well made but disappointed with the provided fittings. I took the old fittings off my old 20 year tank and replaced the low quality that came with the tank.I recommend this tank but replace the fittings.Hi AllI bought it a few days ago and the connection were air-tight (there was white Teflon installed, so perfect) and it does not appears to leak at all. The tank was much smaller than I thought (it appears bigger on the picture).Ad described, fast ship, does the job.Me gustó ya que aumenta la capacidad y es portablevery light weight and large capacity
