Designed for carburetor and throttle body injection assemblies with a 5-1/8 inch neck, Spectre’s cowl hood style air cleaner assemblies come with a 3, 4 or 5 tall HPR air filter. These air filters are available with our red, blue, black or white media. In addition, these assemblies come with a triple chrome plated or Extraflow air filter lid. The powder coated drop base lowers the air cleaner, resulting in an overall height of 2.5 inches from the carburetor flange to the air box sealing edge. The open top air box base is designed for cars and trucks with cowl style hoods so that they seal to the underside hood, drawing cool outside air from the base of the windshield.

Bought this air cleaner and was quite exited to try it out. Then it arrived via UPS. I opened the box and was greated with a poorly riveted together air cleaner assembly that had gaps up to 1/4" in some places and had what I believe to be a powder coat finish that was pretty scratched up and of pretty poor quality. Not what I expected. Ok, I figured I can modify it and get it sealed up tight (although I shouldn't have to as it is a new product) so I put it on my car......doesn't fit. My carb is an edelbrock thunder series with electric choke which the air cleaner interferes with. Only solution I can't think of is to put a 3/4" spacer to lift it off the choke but then it will probably interefere with the hood closing. Over all I would not recommend this air cleaner unless you are prepared to do modifications to your new air cleaner or your car. I seriously could have fabricated one just like this in my garage in about an afternoon and it would fit and have better quality than this off the shelf unit.
