I've used many air purifiers, hvac/air filtration units used, and ozone generators. Before buying this, please be sure you know how this is used. This is not something you plug in and leave plugged in while you and your pets are around. This is an ozone generator and ion generator. Breathing the output of this while it is operating can and will damage your lungs and hurt your pets. This should be used by setting it up to run and then leaving + taking pets with you. However long it runs, you then need to let the area air out another 20 minutes or so before you and your pets return to the area. Use of an ozone generator should be done with a lot of caution. This unit doesn't produce the same volume of ozone as a full size generator, but can be a good amount in smallish areas. The manual also states you and pets should not be in the area while it is running and to air out for 20 minutes after. Extended and frequent use of ozone can damage electronics over time. Ozone is used pretty extensively to eliminate smoke damage smell, but the area is fully closed off with tarps/plastic, and evacuated before use. Those are bigger ozone generators. Please look up the warnings around using ozone generators and how to use to decide if this is right for you.I thought this was an ion generator that produced a tiny bit of ozone, but it produces more than a little.I tested this out in a cat litter / laundry room that was closed off to the rest of my house. The ozone and ion smell is quite strong. It certainly does eliminate odors. The smell it generates is mostly the ions. The ozone will break down to normal oxygen after about 20 minutes and is then safe to breathe. The ion smell will dissipate after a couple hours. I am not a fan of the ion smell and most people won't be, but it does dissipate after a while. If you've got a stinky cat or dog room that you can close off to run this every couple days or maybe a shed with power that gets stinky, then that would be a good use for this. Use with care
