I haven't found many reviews on this intake so I'll try to cover all the bases, skip to the last paragraph for the abbreviated version.Sound:This intake gives the truck a small rumble under normal driving and quite a loud growl while accelerating. I notice the most difference in sound between 2000-4000 rpms. There isn't a terrible drone noise on the highway but if you're going up a large gradual incline you will hear a rumble from under the hood.Performance:Like most other cold air intakes, this one is not a miracle bolt on. Throttle response seems to be improved. Overall acceleration is probably close to the same but the truck feels like it's breathing better through all rpms. I've noticed a couple times the truck would downshift a half second quicker when ide step on it. I haven't noticed a difference in gas mileage but I've only had it for a week.Constriction:The banks intake is made of rigid plastic and has a huge filter (they offer both dry and oiled). This intake seems to stay cool even after driving for over an hour while the oem was hot to the touch.Installation:Removing the old intake system was pretty straight forward and the details in the instructions are enough for someone who needs the step by step. Installation of the new intake is also pretty straight forward but I do have 2 complaints about installation. First, it seems like a large component of the system will have to be removed to clean the filter. And second, the "ram air" cowl doesn't use the factor clips and instead uses these terrible L shaped brackets to clamp on to the bottom half of the stock intake snorkel. A couple of the screws are a real pain to tighten and it seems like they could loosen easily while driving.Overall I am more than satisfied with this purchase. I really like that the intake has a cover on it with just a cowl to suck in some extra cool air while driving but should keep more hot air and debris out. 95% of the time the intake creates a really throaty sound but very occasionally it will make a drone sound when in the 1500rpm range. My only real gripe is that I will have to dissassemble at least a few components to get to the filter to clean it which kind of suck because some parts of the installation were difficult. I would recommend this product.
