A rubber sealing ring is provided to insure a perfect, leak-free fit. To use, simply remove your air filter from the air box and install the air box cover with the provided mounting screw.

i don't get much dirt/mud in the air box chamber but i saw that mine (used) hasn't been cleaned in a while (at least not since i got it). it's recommended to clean the box because you want to minimize instant dirt getting on a newly cleaned and oiled filter. there is plenty of space to work with but nonethess, you'll get dirt pretty easily if you're not super careful. the seal was very good. not a drop of water inside. it was a little tough putting on the brace because i think this stands a pinch higher than the air filter cage/brace. i was a little worried about it cracking as i'm trying to secure the bracket. but it worked great!if you can't let the air box air dry by itself, a little air compressor is recommended just so you get standing water out.
