I bought this as a replacement for the same model that lasted many years. The plate is made of plastic, as before, and the holding clips on this one snapped after six months so the whole thing needs to be replaced again. I contacted Grohe since there is clearly a manufacturing problem and they refused that it had anything to do with them - they said that we used wrong cleaning materials and that it was our fault. We only used wet wipes from Waitrose and the previous plate lasted years with the same treatment.I suspect that they are making these now from inferior materials that the Grohe is not what it used to be. My advice - don't use Grohe any more. They too have gone down the pan (excuse the pun).Purchased this as a replacement. 1 star as a warning not to buy this product unless your replacing existing as it’s made of garbage and the push buttons are held in place on the underside by 4 plastic clips that wear over time and break off (as per other reviews) hence the replacement. Looks Good performance is garbage. Manufacturers need to fix this flaw. To be fair I have 6 of these in my house and this is the first to break in 5 years but it’s an easy design flaw to fixBought this replacement push button for my toilet as the original was broken when the pigs raided my house looking for my mate Charlie.They found him and his mate Bob marley chilling together in the bath.Anyway it was easy to install and now I can dump my load without having to put a bucket of water down the toilet to get rid of the brown nuggets i have been producing lately.Yes I know, more salad and veg...I can't help it I love a dirty doner and I'm not talking about my mates Mrs Donna.. she is filthy though!Au revoirClearly, there was a problem with the last reviewers purchase, but this was not the case with mine. I was worried after reading his review, but the item came as described with the 'button' and plate surround. Our only issue was that we ordered it for next day delivery, which didn't happen, but Amazon apologised and speedily refunded the delivery charge, and as the item arrived the next morning, it really didn't cause too much hassle. I have to say that I was a little surprised when getting to the page for this review, as since my purchase a week ago, this item has gone from £28 to £59, so quite pleased i purchased when I did!Delivered next day
