フェリックス・ヘスのサウンド・アート作品を紹介する本とCD。発行は市民ギャラリー・ザールブリュッケン。個展に際して出版されたものか。ベルント・シュルツが編集、ヘス自身の文章や対談、著作目録や音源目録などのデータがあるほか、ロルフ・ユリウス、鈴木昭男が短文を寄せている。CDに入っているのは「気圧変動」という20分ほどの作品。ほとんど可聴帯域外の気圧変動（0.05～50Hz）を録音し、360倍速で再生してほぼ聴取可能（18～18000Hz）にしたもの。つまりオリジナル音源の長さは5日間。時間差によるステレオ効果を維持するために左右のマイクの距離も360倍してある（64m）。工場や車の騒音はチーとかビーといった音になり、ドアの開け閉めに伴う音は、プッとかヵチというクリック音になる。低周波は左右に広がり、高周波の音ほどセンターに定位する。聞いたことのない得体の知れない音場。われわれが住んでいるこの世界からまったくちがう光景が引き出されるという感覚が、この作品の味わいどころ。
