I can't imagine a better overview of WW1 in the air that will give you a better understanding of such a wide topic. Mr Kennett covers more than you could imagine, and with so much detail (lots of interesting facts and figures), that it's hard to believe how he put it all together and so well too. He writes in an easy to understand style, and the book is actually entertaining (yes, a good and easy read!) with even humorous anecdotes, while you learn so much along the way. Thank you Mr Kennett, for undertaking such a monumental task, and making it seem easy to read and enjoy while taking it all in, for a better understanding of how the airplane constantly evolved during the war years and beyond. My copy was dated 1991, and lists 275 pages, with nice heavy paper stock used. The original 1990 issue is listed as having 288 pages. So I don't know if my slightly later printing was missing any pages, or they just didn't count the illustrations or number those pages either-but the page count is hard to explain. I hope mine is not missing pages-as it is too good of a book not to have it all-so someone might know out there, but not me!Anyway, enjoy, and be transported back to the early days of this century when it all started in earnest, in the air.
