Deflector assembly is prone to failure at the slightest stress. In my 3 ceiling vent installation the connection of the base and mast was a repeated source of failure. If you can’t easily retrieve the base to reassemble when the connection fails, don’t frustrate yourself. Too late for me to return my stuff. Hopefully the components are recyclable; else off to the landfill.
