Trion makes a filter insert that replaces the original electronic grid air cleaner. The insert was somewhat difficult to install but then accepted the Trion Air Bear pleated paper inserts. They seem to fit tightly but they last a long time (3-4 months) without getting very dirty. My house is normally pretty dusty because I garden a lot and the entire house is filled with books and we have a cat. The furnace fan has been set to run only when the furnace is heating the house. Perhaps if I set the fan to run all the time there would be less dust and the filters would not last so long.
