Replacing the Air Filters To replace your the air filters in your LV-PUR131 or LV-PUR131S air purifier follow the steps below: 1.With the air purifier off, unplug the air purifier and remove the back cover 2.Remove the old air filters and properly dispose of them 3.Unwrap the new air filters. Place the Activated Carbon filter inside the housing first, making sure the pull tabs are facing the opening 4.Install the True HEPA filter into the housing; make sure the pull tabs are facing the opening. 5.Replace the back cover onto the housing 6.Plug in and turn on the air purifier. Use a pen or a pencil to press the black reset button inside the vent on the side of the air purifier. The "Change Filter" symbol should now be off Be sure to also clean the dust sensor on the side of the air purifier using a clean cotton swab The air filters can be used for up to 6 months, depending on how often your air purifier is used. ****UPDATE upgrade to 5 stars due to excellent customer service and LV H133****Em from Levoit reached out to me to address my concerns. This was a pleasant surprise. She immediately wanted to send me out a new air purifier LV Pur131. Figuring it was long shot I asked if she could send me the LVH133 and I advised I'll be willing to pay the difference. Em not only sent me out the LV H133 she advised I would not have to pay the difference as a good will gesture. I was totally taken back, surprised and shocked. This is customer service in its class of it's own!!!! I recieved my new air purifier LV H133 a few days after. This thing is big! Fan speed 1 is virtually quiet. Fan speed 2 is really quiet and pushes out a lot of air (comparable to fan speed 3 on the Pur 131). Fan speed 3...well its loud but effective! Cleans the air in no time. One feature I really like and find useful with the LV H133 is there is an air quality ring around the controls which changes to reflect the air quality. Unlike the Pur131 the machine does not have to be in auto mode to provide air quality color. You can have it on any fan mode 1,2,3 or auto and it will provide an air quality reading. It cleans the air really well. Some ppl will say "yes its bigger so its expected to push and clean more air". However when it comes to air purifiers, bigger doesn't always mean better. The Pur 133 is also big but its louder (speed 2 noise level on the h133 is considerably quieter compared to pur131) and doesn't clean the air as well as the H133. Overall I would highly recommend this company for their outstanding customer service and prompt service. I would also recommend spending the extra money to get the H133 its definitely worth it IMHO. I will be returning my 2 Pur131's and will purchase another H133.****ORIGINAL REVIEW***I bought 2 air purifiers, one for the living room and one for the bedroom. Sleep mode is very quiet. However, it does get loud as you increase the fan speed, its as loud as a window AC on fan mode. There's eight top vents, but air only flows out of 6 on one machine and 5 on the 2nd device. I dont know if I recieved two defective devices or if this is working by design. Also, the side vents where the air is sucked in doesnt feel like its sucking air. When I put my hand there, there isnt much airflow. I will be contacting the seller. As for the air quality, we havent noticed much of a difference. 2.5 stars as the auto sensor does work, filter can be easily replaceable and the controls are easy to use.
